除夕

today is the eve of lunar new year..welcome the year of pig(or they call babe?)was too tired to wake up early coz only slept at 5am plus..heez..

it's been a long time i ever sat between my mum & dad during lunch..heez..quite like tt feeling..my bro still sleeping..dunno wat time he came back coz the time i slept(5am), din see him coming back yet..our family is getting 'smaller' coz my sis is married..then my bro usually came home late & stuffs..so only left with me who wil tag along with my parents..dunno why..i feel tt i shd be pei-ing them during cny..so tt's why i always ask them whether wan to go 河畔 every yr..though u guys might say nothing to see also..but then it used to a hang out place for our family in the past..i still rem the times it used to be a big event with fun fair & bazaar..there used to be a huge 财神爷 which wld sprinkle gold flakes down..then everytime got 八仙..one time it was like a big bazaar displaying all the traditional chinese stuffs..i still rem i got some stamps from there..which my dad bought them for me..now only left me will go with them..they always say their kids haf grown up & will leave them behind..well it seems to be true..as we grow older, we are more busy..so during cny, unless they are nt free, otherwise i wld like to spend the times with them..

mum asked me to help her stick the stuffs on our door..to 招财..i guess she wanted me to do it earlier but i cldn't wake up tt early..so she left it for me to wake up to do..if nt i won't haf the feel of helping out to prepare for cny..heez..she bought the moving 财神爷..so coolz..i was so happy when i got it working tt i said "YEAH" then my dad laughed at me..heez..here's the pic:
well it's nt so high quality so the 利 kept dropping off..then we used a lot of glue to stick it..heez..

then as usual for every yr, my mum wld ask me to de-shell the 鸟蛋..tt's my fav for steamboat mahz..then i still rem my cousin said tt it contains high cholesterol..so the cholesterol of one egg = like 2-3 normal chicken egg? then every yr they will suan me tt u wan more ahz? ha..

this yr round, i get to shell prawns..heez..coz every yr i wan to help out in tt but my mum always say wil leave a terrible smell on my fingers..so she forbids me to do..then my sis was there to help out also..this yr..we started earlier..my sis nt ard & my mum was bz washing clothes..so i get the CHANCE! heez..my mum still suan me dun shell too slowly..diaoz..

juz some tots when shelling..in the beginning, i'm ok when shell the few prawns..then some tots start to linger in my mind..so many prawns died in front of me..& i'm removing their heads first..then their legs & shells..ermz..sound gross ahz..sorry ahz..but then this is how u will shell prawn isn't it? juz tt maybe i say it too crudely bahz..it juz came to my mind tt they might feel pain.haha..shit lahz..i'm weird i guess..then i started feeling a bit weird when touched their legs..but then i love seafood..so it's an irony bahz..i like to eat them but dun wish to kill them..erm..forget it..juz some tots ran thru my mind..maybe coz i hardly cook..so when deal with raw food, i wld think a lot..haha..when removing the heads, some juice came out..like orange color..i dunno wat's tt..then i haf to take out the intestines(i suppose)..ermz..then i suddenly tot of sth..new yr is a time for us to reunion..but we din allow them to reunite with their families..hmmmz..i'm weird right..anyway finally done with it..i'm lucky tt i din deal with the pig's liver..

my bro ordered 鱼生 from sakae sushi @northpt..he always do tt since a couple of yrs ago..so our tradition is to 捞鱼生 on 除夕..he came back with the package..looked nice..& he ordered extra pack of salmon sashimi!! YUM YUM!

then r.h. showed me a link to a video online..it shows an amazing climber who can overcome a lot of difficult stages in the competition..my gosh! really AMAZING..i haf the link..still with me i think..if u are interested, juz ask from me..

finally my sis & bro-in-law arrived..which means dinner gonna starting soon..yuppie! but then my cousin haven come yet..still need to wait..here's the reunion dinner while i'm still waiting for the water to boil so i can add egg!

the cute looking fish cake..well all of them said it's a pig..but then i tot it's panda though it has pink eyes..then i asked my mum did the person tell her wat it is..then she answered: "fish cake" then my siblings burst out into laughter..coz they knew i was expecting the answer to be like which animal..pengz..anyway it tasted normal..but then i felt weird to eat it..maybe becoz of the black color..heez..this is the utensil we used to put our sauce..i think it's a souvenir to one of the weddings my mum attended..nt bad lehz.quite sweet

we started with the yu sheng..saw the salmon..well they are big slices lohz..really filling..but then no wasabi & sauce..so after eating like 3 slices, i got a bit sick of it..the slice is really big tt i used it to wrap the rest of the ingredients..heez..like popiah..but this is high class popiah, salmon popiah..heez..
the steamboat after adding most of the ingredients in..see the cute fish cake..haha..looks overwhelming..but then need to feed 8 mouths lehz..ok lahz..heez..on top of these, we haf our red wine..heez..my sis forgot to bring the hoegarden here for me..nvm..can always get from supermarts..heez..in the past, we used to drink champagne(non-alcoholic)..still rem the times where my dad shd drive us to sembawang shopping centre to get them..then i wld choose the favour..now we upgrade to beers & wine..heez..coz i grow up le..way past the minimum age to buy & drink alcoholic beverages..heez..we almost opened the bottle of sake..i still rem last yr my bro opened warm sake & a very expensive red wine & my sis got me hoegarden..heez..

the dinner was great..coz i love the feeling of eating tgt with my family..& we usually only haf this once a yr..coz i;m hardly at home now since i'm staying in sch..then my bro usually nt ard to haf meals @ home..my parents are working..even if she cooks, we eat at different times..so it feels gd to eat tgt..we haf one more member in the family..tt is my bro-in-law..

after the dinner, my sis helped me with the nail polish..heyz..me putting nail polish lehz..u pple muz be shocked..heez..the last time i did this with my sis was like in sec sch days..heez..now i wanted to becoz this time round i bought more feminine clothes..muz be more mature le..same as my shoes..so i need to paint my nails..heez..so borrowed from my sis..now then i understand why sisters like to do these things tgt..it's fun & heart warming actually..

the night wld be usually my parents doing the 拜拜..then i wld watch the chu xi variety show..then the countdown part..heez..therafter, my parents would go & burn the incense papers..when i looked down from my hse, there were nt many pple doing that..i rem in the past, ard this time, downstairs was always packed with pple burning incense papers..i felt weird & tot my parents might haf gone down at the wrong timing..then they said tt coz many of the old residents had moved away..haiz..my nostalgic memories again..

the day wld end off with tearing eyes..nt becoa i'm sad..but becoz of the burning of incense paper & the smoke..tt acts like a tear bomb..my gosh..really painful & can;t open my eyes..
